Design Intervention is a boutique design studio based in the Southtowns of Buffalo, New York, specializing in thoughtfully designed Airbnbs and short-term rentals that stand out in a competitive market.

Founded by designer and Airbnb Superhost Kimberly Werner, Design Intervention combines visual design expertise with real-world hosting experience. Kimberly personally owns, designed, and manages two 5-star short-term rentals, giving her firsthand insight into what today’s guests notice, remember, and book.

From layout and furnishings to guest experience and visual presentation, Design Intervention helps hosts create spaces that feel intentional, elevated, and built to perform.

While based in Western New York, Design Intervention works with both local and remote clients through virtual consultations, walkthroughs, and design planning, with travel available for select projects.

    Design Intervention was founded by graphic designer and creative strategist Kimberly Werner, whose background in branding, visual storytelling, and hospitality naturally evolved into short-term rental design.

    After years of helping businesses create strong visual experiences, Kimberly discovered her favorite projects were the ones that transformed physical spaces — combining thoughtful design with comfort, functionality, and emotional connection.

    Today, she owns, designed, and manages two 5-star Airbnb properties and is an Airbnb Superhost herself, bringing practical hosting experience into every client project. Her approach blends aesthetics with strategy, helping hosts create spaces that not only look beautiful in photos, but also function well for guests and support stronger bookings.

    Based in the Southtowns of Buffalo, NY, Design Intervention works with local clients in person and offers virtual design consulting for hosts nationwide. Select travel projects are also available.
